Why We Created This Program

At Miller Piano Specialists, we firmly believe a world with more music makers is a better world for all. Music builds confidence, connection, and creativity, and it should be accessible, exciting, and achievable for all, regardless of age, background, or income.

Too often, music education feels out of reach. Traditional lessons can be expensive. Pianos can be costly. And formal instruction, especially too early, can sometimes feel rigid, intimidating, or uninspiring.

We believe we’ve been getting it backwards.

Before we teach kids how to play music, we need to teach them to love it.
When children first experience music as something fun, expressive, and social, they’re more likely to stick with it and thrive when they do move into more formal lessons later.

This Summer Piano Program is one way we’re putting that belief into action. It’s designed to:

  • Remove common barriers like cost, lack of access to instruments, or pressure to already “know” music
  • Make music learning joyful, social, and immediately rewarding – especially for new or shy learners
  • Help kids develop real musicianship through rhythm, listening, creativity, and collaboration – not just note-reading or drills

Whether your child has taken lessons or never touched a piano, this is a place for them to explore their musical potential in a supportive, welcoming environment and to fall in love with music on their own terms.

Because when kids love music first, they stay with it longer and grow deeper as musicians and as people.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a private lesson or a group class?

It’s a small-group class (8 kids max), with both group collaboration and one-on-one support. Each student gets focused attention and shared learning time.

Which class should my child join – 11am or 1pm?

• If your child is already taking piano lessons or has 1+ years of experience, enroll them in the 11:00am Intermediate Group.
• If your child is new to piano or has limited experience, the 1:00pm Beginner Group is the perfect fit.

Does my child need a piano at home?

Nope! We provide the instruments. No home piano is required to participate.

Is this a replacement for piano lessons?

It’s not designed to replace private lessons, but to complement them — or serve as a creative, low-pressure introduction to music.

Will there be a performance?

Yes! At the end of the program, each student will participate in a recorded and streamed online keyboard concert to show off what they’ve learned.

What if my child can’t make it every day?

No problem! We know summer is a busy time for most. The program is designed so if your child misses a day here or there, they’ll be able to jump back in.

Can siblings enroll together?

Absolutely. We offer discounted rates for siblings and will do our best to place them in the same or nearby sessions if appropriate.

What if my child is shy or unsure?

Our supportive, social environment is ideal for building confidence. Nick’s friendly teaching style makes even hesitant kids feel included and successful.
