Carson Bruce, in the Masters of Fine Arts Grad program at MTSU was completing part of his course today by sampling some of our pianos. After looking around, he chose the Ritmuller 132 professional upright and Kayserburg KX1 and a Pearl River upright. He brought in his equipment to record and sample different techniques and different note velocities using pro-tools. Part of his course is recording and creating samples (for class only) to test using midi programs.
He chose the pianos for the different “mood” or “sound quality” of each piano. He is being instructed by three professors at MTSU, Dr. Joseph Akins, John Merchant and Cossette Collier.
