Monday night, September 16, Vanderbilt’s Blair School of Music and Nashville Metro School’s “School of the Arts”, joined together to present a wonderful choral concert.
The concert was held at the Steve and Judy Turner Recital Hall at the Blair School of Music. Participants were from NSA’s Madrigal Singers led by Walt Bittner and Blair’s Symphonic Choir directed by Tucker Biddlecombe.
The concert was titled “Friends and Partners in Music” and was a great example of how institutions of higher learning and secondary schools can interact and make it a true learning experience. Dr Mark Wait, Dr Gregory Stewart, Dr Nola Jones, Laurie Schell, and Pam Schneller each commented on the value of this interaction and sharing between the schools. Another great example of how music enriches the lives of us all!
