A Story That Sums It All Up

Mike W., a longtime session bass player who recorded on countless albums over the decades, visited our showroom multiple times a month — not to browse, but to wait. He wasn’t just looking for any piano. He was waiting for the right one to find him.

Over time, he became more than a regular. He became a great friend.

Then in March 2025, it finally happened: a beautiful Kawai KG-2D grand piano appeared on our floor. The moment Mike sat down to play it, he knew. That piano wasn’t just an instrument — it was the next chapter in his story.

Today, that same piano fills his home during “Family Jam Nights,” where his children and grandchildren gather around, playing songs, laughing, and making memories.

Mike’s story isn’t unique — and that’s what makes it special. We’re here for stories like his. Because the right piano doesn’t just make music — it brings people together.

We are extremely pleased with our experience of purchasing a piano from Miller Piano Specialists. I found a piano on their website and communicated with Forrest, who is very knowledgeable about pianos. We went to their showroom, met Forrest, … More and purchased a used Kawai baby grand. We appreciate the fact that he worked to stay within our budget and provided excellent service. The piano movers were professional, courteous, and efficient. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

I can’t express enough how incredible Forrest and Travis were to us at Miller Piano Specialists. We were in the market for a used piano and on a whim decided to go in to Miller one afternoon. Forrest greeted us so warmly seconds after walking … More in the door. He asked us details about what we were looking for, questions we hadn’t even thought of yet. He helped us narrow down our specific set of desires, looked around the store, and led us to a piano that absolutely blew all of our expectations out of the water. It was as if this was piano was made specifically for us. Totally meant to be and yet we wouldn’t have found this without Forrest’s expertise. He shared with us the backstory of the piano, played it for us, answered all of our questions thoroughly and patiently, and we were sold. We bought the piano that day, and it just got delivered to our home yesterday! It’s a 1971 Yamaha Upright. Forrest did an incredible job getting it ready for its forever home. We absolutely loved chatting with Forrest and his Dad Travis about the history of the Miller shop, and their plans for the future. They have made it clear to us that they are here to support us in anything we might need in the future and on our adventure in music as a family. We are very grateful to have chosen Miller Piano Specialists as the place to buy our piano!

I wish Miller Piano was closer to us but have to say that our Yamaha piano is in our home in Vermont AND Travis Mitchell and his son went above and beyond to help me get my piano working again with the Disklavier. No one else knew what … More to do including Yamaha technicians from the corporate site. I tried everything they recommended to only tell me my unit would not work anymore.I did a search for companies that had experience with the Disklavier and came across Miller Piano. It was so heartwarming to see how much they cared and promised me they could get the Disklavier running again. I now can listen to my piano again and couldn't be any happier. These are your go to people that have not only knowledge but care about their customers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. After 1 1/2 without listening to my piano I am truly grateful!
