Yamaha is known for its superior quality and wide range of incredible pianos to choose from. Trusted by some of music’s biggest names, Yamaha was the first piano manufacturer to explore the idea of the ‘hybrid’ piano with their Silent, Transacoustic, and AvantGrand instruments. Since being introduced by Yamaha in 2009, the AvantGrand digital pianos have sky-rocketed in popularity. Within the AvantGrand range, Yamaha now boasts four incredible piano models. What exactly is the Yamaha AvantGrand? The AvantGrand weaves advanced technology into an astonishing design that gives form to Yamaha’s aspirations for the future. Check out these 4 cool facts about the Yamaha AvantGrand:

1. 4 Models To Choose From

There are four AvantGrand models to choose from. The AvantGrand N3X, N2, and the N1X all feature the same action as a Yamaha acoustic grand piano. These models contain over 5000 individual parts to make that possible!  Yamaha announced the latest model of the AvantGrand on January 24, 2019. The N1X AvantGrand inherits many design features from the iconic and famous Yamaha’s CX and CF series grand pianos.

2. The AvantGrand Sound Is Unmatched

With Yamaha AvantGrand, you don’t just get the sound of one piano. The AvantGrand gives you the sound of Yamaha’s flagship CFX concert grand, along with the Bösendorfer Imperial 290. Looking for a piano that can give you the best of both an acoustic sound and a digital sound? With the AvantGrand, you get to enjoy a digital piano without losing the essence of a real acoustic piano. The AvantGrand pianos use samples taken from four locations in a Yamaha CFIIIS – a CFX and Bosendorfer Imperial for the N1X, N3X, and the NU1X, CFX for NU1- Concert Grand pianos and attempt to emulate all aspects of conventional piano. All elements, including the sound and play, and even the accurate response of keys and pedals. Check out this video on the Yamaha AvantGrand Comparison -N1, Nu1X, N2, and N3:

3. Yamaha Is Trusted by the Greatest

Yamaha’s AvantGrand pianos have some impressive endorsements from many artists in the music world. Some artists include Chick Corea, Artur Pizarro, Emeli Sandé, Cyprien Katsaris, Dr. Michael Shinn (Julliard School of Music), Francesco Tristano, Giorgi Mikadze, and Ikuyo Nakamichi, Alexander Kobrin, and Murray McLachlan.

4. It Feel’s Organic

The feeling of playing an acoustic instrument is unique- and it can be hard to match. The N3X and N2 models have recreated this organic piano feel with transducers attached to the keys and the pedals. The transducer is a device that converts energy from one form to another. The transducer transmits vibrations to the keys and pedals, giving a natural and realistic sound response.
