As a company, Yamaha has shown a remarkable ability to move towards the future by flawlessly integrating technological advances into their pianos. One of the most impressive ways they have done this is with their TransAcoustic piano.

Yamaha’s TransAcoustic Piano is a masterful blend of classic and innovative technology. It is available both on Yamaha’s traditional upright acoustic U1 piano as well as the GC1 grand piano, and thus embodies all of the best qualities that Yamaha acoustic pianos have historically been known for. But it also has a secret that makes it unlike anything else on the market.

The TransAcoustic is equipped with state-of-the-art digital technology and samples from dozens of flawlessly recorded instruments so you can play the acoustic piano along with sounds from almost any instrument of your choosing. Yamaha’s technology turns the existing sounding board of the U1 or GC1 acoustic piano into a built-in speaker that projects digitally sampled sounds to complement or even replace what you are playing on the acoustic keyboard. Using the sounding board as a speaker rather than playing supplemental sounds from an outside speaker gives the finished product a warm, organic, and natural sound that resonates perfectly and has endless applications.

Samples are controlled through a small box mounted on the left front side of the piano and through the pedals below, and the addition of Yamaha’s patented technology means you can also use the TransAcoustic to record, playback, and play silently through headphones. The TransAcoustic encompasses everything great about digital pianos, without compromising on the quality and resonance of traditional acoustics—it is literally the best of both worlds!

The TransAcoustic is easy to learn to use and accessible to anyone in any situation—from the at-home learner just starting out to the teacher in a classroom setting who wants to find new ways to teach his students. The TransAcoustic is also a favorite of music composers—the versatility in instruments and accompaniment lends itself to greater inspiration and creativity in composition and a greater ability to connect emotionally to the instrument.

The TransAcoustic Piano is a masterpiece of tradition and technology, and we are proud to sell and promote it at Miller Piano Specialists. More information about the Yamaha TransAcoustic can be found on the Yamaha website. To try the TransAcoustic for yourself, visit Miller Piano Specialists anytime or visit millerps.com to learn more.
