Piano Tuning Services & Pricing

The pricing below reflects our standard rates, but every piano is unique. Our technician will assess your piano and recommend the best approach to maintain or restore its condition. If any adjustments are needed, we’ll review all options and pricing with you before proceeding.

Standard Tuning – $175

For pianos tuned within the last two years

Estimated Time: ~1 hour

  • Fine-tuning for accurate pitch (A440 standard)
  • Pedal adjustments for optimal response
  • Thorough keytop cleaning
  • Full piano assessment (structural, mechanical, and tonal evaluation)
  • Recommended every 6–12 months for best results

Best for pianos that have been regularly maintained and only require minor pitch corrections.

Tuning + Pitch Raise – $262.50

For pianos last tuned over two years ago

Estimated Time: ~1.5 hours

  • Everything included with Standard Tuning +
  • Pitch correction – Gradual adjustment to restore proper string tension

If your piano hasn’t been tuned in years, its pitch may have drifted too far from standard tuning. A pitch raise stabilizes the tension before fine-tuning can be performed.

Service Visit / Assessment – $125

Not sure what your piano needs? This service is ideal if your piano hasn’t been maintained in years or if you’re unsure of its condition.

Estimated Time: ~15 minutes

  • Comprehensive piano inspection
  • Diagnosis of tuning and repair needs
  • Personalized maintenance recommendations

💡 Service Credit: If tuning or repairs are completed during the same visit, the assessment fee will be applied toward the service cost.

Why Should You Tune Your Piano?

Your piano is more than just an instrument. It’s part of your home, your passion, and your life. Regular tuning ensures your piano sounds its best every time you play, enhancing your enjoyment and preserving its quality for generations to come.

  • Your Sound, Perfected: Over time, changes in temperature, humidity, and regular use can cause your piano to go out of tune. Regular tuning keeps every note sounding as it should — rich and clear.
  • Protect Your Investment: Tuning helps prevent unnecessary strain on your piano’s internal components, preserving its value and performance for years to come.
  • Play With Confidence: A properly tuned piano responds better to your touch, making it more enjoyable to play.

How Often Should You Tune Your Piano?

Here in Nashville, we recommend tuning your piano twice a year, typically in Spring and Fall. These seasonal changes bring shifts in temperature and humidity that can affect your piano’s tuning. A good rule of thumb is to schedule a tuning when you switch your home’s air conditioning from heating to cooling or vice versa.

At the very least, tuning your piano once a year helps maintain its sound quality and protects its internal components from unnecessary wear. If your piano gets heavy use, such as for daily practice or performances, or if it’s recently been moved, more frequent tunings may be necessary to keep it in optimal condition.
