DESCRIPTION:Miller Piano Specialists\n3656 Trousdale Dr.\, Suite 111\nNashville\, TN 37204 \nJoin us for an evening of powerful\, dramatic\, and rarely heard piano music with pianist\, composer\, and improviser David Finney. \nRSVP NOW \nThe program is built around piano versions of three organ works by Franz Liszt\, including the Variations on Weinen\, Klagen\, Sorgen\, Zagen\, the Fantasy and Fugue on the Theme B-A-C-H\, and Ferruccio Busoni’s formidable piano transcription of Liszt’s Fantasy and Fugue on the chorale “Ad nos\, ad salutarem undam.” \nThe recital also features J.S. Bach’s Prelude and Fugue No. 4 in C-sharp minor from The Well-Tempered Clavier\, Book I\, along with two rarely performed sonatas by Russian pianist-composer Samuil Feinberg. \nPresented just days before Halloween\, the dark chromaticism of the Liszt selections makes the program especially fitting for the season. Feinberg’s seldom-heard sonatas bring an additional dimension of beauty\, intensity\, and expressive power to the evening. \nProgram\nJ.S. He has extensive experience as a collaborative pianist in university settings\, including 14 years at Trevecca Nazarene University\, where he performed in faculty and student recitals\, competitions\, and composers’ forums. \nIn addition to numerous solo and chamber music recitals\, Finney has appeared as soloist in concertos by Beethoven\, Liszt\, Clara Schumann\, Manuel de Falla\, and Nikolai Medtner. \nRSVP ONLINE
